In April 2013 we re-joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM) after having met during our Discipleship Training School 5 years prior. Initially, about a year after we married we prayed and looked into re-joining YWAM but felt like the door on that was shut for some reason. God instead lead us to move from NC to WA where we lived for about 3 years. We treasured our time living in NC and WA and feel like both were important steps on our journey together, as a couple, with God.
But now He has started us on a new season of our lives, and one that completely took us for surprise. We have always heard to be good stewards- with our time, talents, finances etc but actually living that out in a practical sense doesn't always come naturally. While we were living in WA a question was raised that shook both of us... are we so blessed by God in the different areas of our life (finances, work, free time etc.) that it's possible that we could go through life without God and not even realize it? This was one of the thoughts that catapulted us into praying about rejoining YWAM.
In a practical sense going from the two of us working full time jobs to relying on God for the smallest of things has been both a difficult and rewarding journey of faith and trust in the very nature and character of God.
We are so thankful for the fact that our God is Jehovah-Jirah, The LORD Who Provides. But, we also know that God uses His church and the people around us to provide/partner with us in this journey.
So, why support us?
We invite you to be a partner with us and with God in what He is doing in the nations. We understand that because of family and commitments not everyone is called to pick up everything and go into full time ministry, but just because you yourself can't, doesn't mean the door is closed. One of the most rewarding things is partnering with others in the work of our Lord. We are all on the same team. We are all a part of the same kingdom with Jesus as King!
Matthew 28:19, 20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…" We have almost 10 nations represented in our students who are coming in January. We have the nations coming to us to be discipled and sent out!
